About me

 
I with my wife Inga and son Eigintas, who is
celebrating his first birthday, September 25, 2008.

       I was born on September 12, 1973, in Kaunas, Lithuania. I graduated from the Vilnius University in 1998. September 1996 - February 2011 I was working in the Lithuanian Institute of History. Since September 2008 I am a lecturer in the Faculty of History at the Vilnius Pedagogical University / Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences.
       My specialisation is medieval history of Lithuania. My first book “Lietuvos valstybes istakos” (“The Formation of the Lithuanian State”) was published in the end of May, 2000 in Vilnius by “Vaga” publishers. My other books include “The Medieval Lords of Lithuania” (co-author Inga Baranauskienė, 2014), “Saulės mūšio pėdsakų paieškos” (co-author Gintautas Zabiela, “Searching for the Traces of the Battle of Saule”, 2016), “Garuozos mūšis: šaltiniai ir interpretacijos” (“The Battle of Garoza: Sources ant interpretations”, 2017).
